Description
THE DEW SNARE
A museum-style botanical study of Drosera regia—the king sundew—showing its glandular tentacles, adhesive mucilage, leaf inflection, and progressive capture response. Native to the Bainskloof region of South Africa’s Cape Provinces, this rare carnivorous perennial is presented as a field plate for the Corpseflowers botanical archive.
Sundew leaves retain prey with clear adhesive mucilage. Nearby tentacles lean inward, and the leaf blade may fold around larger prey as enzymes release nutrients.
